Everything you need to know about serving in the worship team.
Worship
Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
Psalm 33:3
The worship team is the best team (shhh! Don’t tell the others.) When you are part of our worship team you are joining a team of people who have a heart to worship God. Worship isn’t about singing amazingly, it is about your heart. You join the worship team because you have a God given skill in guitar, drums, singing etc. and you use that skill to worship Him on stage in our gatherings. When you’re not on stage you are still part of the worship team. We lead worship in our homes and as part of the congregation. No one can worship God for you, what we do as a team is lead people into worship and create an opening for the Holy Spirit to move in our church. Worship is all about God and what He is doing in us and the lives of others.

Induction
A legal requirement we have as a Church is to run all new volunteers through an induction process. It sounds very formal but is actually really helpful and will give you a smooth entry into our volunteer family at Citylife.
Part of the induction process is making sure you have gone through the content on this page and on our Serve page. After that, you will be given a link to our Volunteer Induction page and catch up with Liz to run through the information relevant to you.
WWCC
Although the worship team isn’t directly involved with kids ministry we want all our volunteers at Citylife to have an up-to-date WWCC. See below link to apply for yours and once you have been approved, send through the details to office@citylife.org.au.

To be a singer you need to first be able to sing and come to our music practices. While you are there you will talk to Bronwen about your vocal range and what your capabilities are and you will sing with her and the rest of the team.

You don’t have to be a musical wizard, but you do need to know the basics and be able to play along with the band. If you’re not quite ready for this, that okay. You can still attend music practice to learn the songs as well as get some support or tutoring from one of our musicians.

Equipment is provided, mostly. If you are a guitarist and have an awesome Fender or Gretsch, bring it and shred it. If you are a ukuleleist, you will need to bring your own ukulele.
